Friends gather in Toronto this afternoon for a contemplative gathering... When it began nearly 15 years ago, it seemed right for the Meeting. After making the suggestion, and gaining the approval of Meeting, we began... no fanfare, just an invitation for others to join us as they had the time. It has been some years since I've been able to attend -- perhaps over five years now. But it filled a need then -- and seems to now.
So what is the purpose of yet another blog? I intend this as exploration -- encouragement of small Friends' meetings and worship groups that find themselves overwhelmed the many demands on their time. This blog is an invitation to join together in exploring "the manner of Friends (Quakers)". It will involve many who are isolated Friends, tiny meetings and worship groups. I have no desire to be thought of as an authority; we all follow an inward Teacher.
